His green eyes burned with an anger only matched by the one seen when he plays chess with the Professor of history. He held young Isaac up high, looking at the boy who had a second ago attempted to pull a prank on him, oh Professor Alero hated pranks. He snarled at the boy, spat him in the face "Never! Ever make as much as a sound in my library again! You understand!?" The boy stuttered, watching those green eyes burn in rage, the darkness around him somehow crawling up his back, Juan's shadow grow in size. And little Isaac nodded quickly, in panic almost. Juan quickly placed him on the floor again and rearranged his clothing. "Good, then we have come to an agreement". He pointed towards the exit "Now leave, I won't see you here again until tomorrow. And that's the last time you try to tie my shoelaces together! You hear?!"
The boy covered and ran, and Alero wondered to himself if he had been too harsh on the kid. Then again, it was a prank, and those students sure loved to toy him around like that. He refused to let them do so.
A few stables of books needed to be arranged and he began his lonely job. He had been offered an assistant but refused, he would rather take care of it all by himself. Yes, the library was his, and his alone. It has become his home, when nothing else gave shelter, because surrounded by books, you are never truthfully alone. A book fell down from the stable as he tried to lift if, he glanced downwards. Aaah, good old David Hume, he missed the man, his lecturing words. Alero opened the book, reading the first page made him stiffen "To my dear student Juan Alero, may he never loose his youthful face". Why hadn't he noticed this before? If a student found out, he would be fired instantly. Then again, he was sure there were several other men out there named his exact name. Juan Alero. Calm down lad, his thoughts helped him, you are not to be hunted.
He turned the page, reading the start of the book, smilingly as he recognized words, meanings he had heard in his time as David's student.
"Inductive inference is the ability to infer from past regularities—e.g., from the fact that B has always followed A—to future and presently unobserved instances of that regularity—e.g., that if A occurs, B will follow. For example, the fact that fire has always burned us in the past leads us to believe that fire will continue to burn us in the future, and that if any person is currently touching fire, it is burning them. The problem of induction is the problem of explaining this ability: how can we know the way things will behave when they go "beyond the present testimony of the senses, and the records of our memory"?"
He smiled and placed the book back on the stable before carrying them to the shelves they belonged to.

Mia had been slightly overwhelmed upon finding out that the school wasn't all it appeared to be. More than ever, she was glad that her brother had been rejected. He was somewhat racist when it came to normal humans, let alone some of the people that were admitted here!
She was flattered beyond belief when the headmistress explained to all of the new human students that it was their job to help the others assimilate. The humans had the easy part; they were trusted to show the rest through the hard part. Mia had never been trusted with anything so important before, and the thought sent a warm glow over her.
However, once settled into the strange concept, it was still school. Mia was still too shy to make friends, and had decided to do what she had done in her old school- hang out in the library, and hope for something to happen.
The librarian, however, was easily the most intimidating person she had ever laid eyes on. She intended to avoid him as much as possible, and to stay out of his way. She certainly didn't want to irritate him- she was afraid enough when he directed his temper on other people.
Mia slunk by him into the room- and realised that she had no idea of where anything was. She liked exploring libraries, but she was looking for a specific book. The Young Author's Guide to Short Stories. She had started reading it at home, and had a few story ideas that she wanted to try. But she also wanted to finish the book first!
As she usually did when she had a dilema, she stood awkwardly in the entrance and started to fidget.

He placed the books where they had their homes, took his time, sure no reason to rush anything here. Books took time to organize, to read, to really understand. He ran his finger down the bag of every book he placed just to make it feel welcome in its new home. It was some silly ritual really, but he always did it. He turned to pick up an other pile.
Juan Alero found himself wearing a polite smile as he turned to look upon this girl. She was new he could tell, newer than some of the others, or maybe he just hadn't seen her here before. Who really knew anyways, he hardly did greet students. But today he did. His memories made him in a quite polite and friendly mood and therefore he placed down the stable of books once again to walk over to this particular girl.
"Sorry can I help you?"
Standing six feet tall with his overwhelming shadow behind him, made him seem a bit scary, heck he could be something from a Tim Burton movie, he just needed a pumpkin head and a scary laughter, no wait, Juan did have a somewhat freaky laughter, when he was angry anyways.
But he smiled so friendly, tried his best not to seem scary or angry or anything. And then he nodded to her again, tipped his head to the left a bit, watching before saying. "I Know what you are looking for. A book!" He smiled, as if he had just tried to make a joke.

Mia started. She hadn't expected him to come up to her. Oh, well- that was one less decision she had to make herself.
When he made such a lame joke, she had to smile. Perhaps he wasn't so scary, after all.
"Um, yes... I was wondering if you- I mean the library- happened to have a copy of The Young Author's Guide to Short Stories? Because I started it at home, and..." realizing that she was rambling, she shut up.
What if the library didn't even have the book? The library was huge- bigger than any she'd ever been in before- but it couldn't have everything, could it?

He nodded at her, send her a polite smile and then seemed thoughtful for a moment, no the library didn't have any fancy machines to keep track of the books, there was an Encyclopedia but he didn't use that, no He had been here for two months now, and Juan Alero knew the position of every book by heart. That was a skill of his, memory.
He nodded "Aaah I think I know where that one is. Interested in writing are we?" He politely asked her, though of course interested, a new student to his class was always welcome. He walked towards the shelves, ran trough them, past an other set of shelves, until he found it. There it was, between Orchards arts of writing and Poetry with Potential. The last one always made him smile a bit to himself.
"There you are miss" He found the book and handed it to her with a little nod. "Oh, if you are going to borrow it for your room, we need to stamp it, so over here please?" he walked towards his table, hoping for her to follow.

Mia beamed, "S-sure, thank you!"
She followed him back to the table in ordrer to have the book stamped.
"I'm so glad it was here- I had wanted to bring the copy I had at home, but I completely forgot to pack it! And I have so many ideas, but I'd only gotten up to chapter five ("Character Developement: Keep the Exposition Short"), so I wasn't sure where to start, and..." She trailed off, mentally kicking herself. She was probably straining this man's patience; what did he care about her writing?

Juan grinned lightly at her. "You know, if you're interested in writing, I give classes in that exactly. Studied by the best you know" He send her a smile supposed to be friendly, but it became wolfish and a bit mysterious, dominating, as if he knew her now, and she should fear him, the smile a ruler makes over his sheeps. The smile the dictator gives to his abyding flock. But he didn't mean to, it was just, the wolf had been showing himself a bit when that boy made a prank a second ago, and now, he was smiling, and she was a... well a she and all. He couldn't help but smile that way, it was in his nature.
"Oh you know, I have a lot of experience in writing, so if you have any questions, I am right here as well" God Alero, that sounded stupid, that sounded more stupid than supposed to, and he sighed by himself. "As in, if you want some help or a new book or anything." He nervously touched the edge of his desk, leaning towards it now. His edducated head told him to let her go now, and he would rather just let her pass on, but he found it important to fetch an other sheep to his flock of students. He did enjoys teaching them about his life and he was sure this girl would fit right in.

Mia smiled shyly, "I'd love to join that class, if I can, but I'm afraid I'm not very good..." she trailed off.
Her brother had read one of her stories a couple weeks ago, and would probably never stop laughing at her. The idea that he was jealous was something that never even crossed her mind; why would he be jealous of her? He was the favorite, the one with the business-oriented mind who would inherit the company. Mia was Mia, insignificant and ignored.
But the librarian looked so earnest; Mia found herself wondering why she had been so intimidated in the first place. He was obviously making a huge effort to be friendly.
