Name: Kathleen Cateran
Nickname: Kit Kit
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Nationality: Canada
Age: 15
Grade: 10
Team: North
Room #: 203
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:
Large, violet eyes peek out from underneath the layered bangs of her shoulder-length hair. Thin, rosy lips- which always seem to be in a large smile- balance perfectly with Kathleen’s pale skin. Standing at roughly 4’11, this teenager had a slightly thin build. But, even with her height and oddly coloured eyes, Kathleen decided that it would be her taste in clothes that would make her stand out…And what taste would that be? Well, the question itself is hard to answer because her style changes slightly each day, but the thing that they all have in common can be summed up by these three words: layers, hats, and black boots.
Kathleen usually finds an extra shirt, skirt, or accessory that she can throw overtop what she’s currently wearing to add a taste of originality to her outfit.
As for hats, she’s never seen without one since she was little. Although some might be...different. (e.g. A hat with rainbow antlers.) She isn’t afraid to parade it around with pride.
Finally, her boots. Those big, black, steel-toe boots. It’s hard to believe that those are her footwear of choice. But, just like her layered cloths and seemingly never-ending parade of hats, she finds a way to make them unique each day. Maybe it was by changing the shoelace’s colour, doodling something on them with white-out, or even just placing a sticker or two on them.
Attitude: For the most part, Kathleen is an optimist who has absolutely no control over her mouth. She is always willing to help a close friend or give some kind of advice to stranger. When faced with a new person, she puts on a friendly smile and instantly tries to gain a friendship with them- mind you, sometimes her big mouth ruins her chances. Oh yes, she’s usually quite this cheery and helpful…unless you push her buttons. Being the way that she is, Kathleen is hardly a patient person. Sure, she could handle the annoying person for about five or six minutes, but once it exceeds that time limit- SNAP!- She’s gone over the edge. Perhaps the person will just get a death glare or cold comment. But, the poor unlucky soul that doesn’t realize her signs of anger will find them selves in a very dangerous situation. Once her anger has been taken out, however, she’s back to the bubbly person she was just moments before.
History:
It seemed that Kathleen always came home with a story to tell. Whether it was the truth, or a lie that was made up mere seconds ago, she always had an explanation for the bruises or cuts she got from school. “I guess I’m trying to be the clumsiest girl in school, Mom.” She would always say with a soft giggle.
Her mother would just shake her head and follow along with the story. After all, she had nothing that proved that Kathleen wasn’t just a clumsy girl…
Finally, the day came when Kathleen couldn’t take the abuse anymore; she fought back at the bullies. She refused to take another punch or kick any longer…That was the time that changed Kathleen’s life.
Her mother then started to receive phone call after phone call about the complaints of parents. They were saying how her daughter is an abusive child. Of course, her mother didn’t bother mentioning the abuse her daughter has taken from their children for the selfish reason to avoid any fights.
The next few months Kathleen was placed in private tutoring-much against her will, mind you- in hopes of calming her down and placing her back into a proper school environment. Well, that worked about as well as trying to teach a cat how to bark.
Kathleen always had a smile on her face when learning under her private teacher, but her words were as sharp as a blade and always cold.
Finally, Kathleen’s tutor couldn’t stand it anymore and quit. Her mother was devastated. Now, Kathleen didn’t really care too much about other’s feelings-but to see her mother break down like that…well, she just couldn’t bare it.
While reading the mail one morning, Kathleen came across a letter in blue. Curious, she opened the letter and quickly skimmed its contents.
After some long hours of thinking, Kathleen decided that she would purpose to her mother about going to Martilia. This time, though, she’ll do her best to get through the school years.
